Your text is rewritten exclusively by a model executing in your Mac's unified memory with Apple Intelligence or Core ML on the Neural Engine. Zero tokens or drafts are ever uploaded, cached to third-party disks, or sent to any server — ours or anyone else's.
How 0 KB Network Egress is Guaranteed
When you press ⇧⌘P, Aura uses standard macOS Accessibility APIs to read the selected string directly into app memory. By default, the text is passed into Aura's own model, run by Core ML on the Neural Engine, generated tokens stream back to the UI, and the final output is written back — no network sockets are opened during inference. You can inspect Aura with Little Snitch, LuLu, or Wireshark to verify it. (If you choose the optional Local Server engine to talk to LM Studio or Ollama, that connects only to loopback addresses on your own Mac — never the internet.)
