Buying & Licensing

Buying, activating, and moving your Breeze Pro license

Everything about the direct (non-App-Store) purchase: where your license key comes from, where to enter it, moving your license to another Mac, and why the 3-device limit is actually a good deal.

Two ways to own Breeze Pro

Breeze Pro is the same $24.99 one-time purchase either way — the only difference is how it's unlocked. The Mac App Store version unlocks automatically through your Apple ID (use "Restore Purchases" on the Breeze Pro screen if it doesn't — see our Support guide). The direct-download version — bought straight from us via Lemon Squeezy — unlocks with a license key instead. This page covers that second path.

Try it first — no key needed

Breeze starts a 14-day trial automatically on first launch, with every Pro module unlocked. No key, no card, no account. The Breeze Pro screen shows how many days are left. When the trial ends, the free modules — Smart Scan, the Storage map, Applications, System junk, Reclaim space and Trash bins — keep working forever; only the Pro modules ask you to unlock.

Buying directly

  1. From the Breeze page, choose the direct-download option near Pricing or head to store.hanncrest.com.
  2. Check out through Lemon Squeezy — card, and PayPal or Apple Pay where available. It's a single $24.99 charge, no subscription, no recurring billing.
  3. You'll land back on a confirmation page, and an email is on its way to the address you paid with.

Finding your license key

Lemon Squeezy emails your receipt within a minute or two of paying. It contains your download link and your unique license key — a string you'll paste into Breeze once.

Don't see it? Check spam or promotions first. The same receipt links to a customer portal where your order and key are always available afterward, so nothing is lost even if the email itself goes missing.

Activating it in Breeze

  1. Open Breeze and click Breeze Pro at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Paste your key into the License key field on the status card.
  3. Click Activate. Within a couple of seconds the card changes to "Breeze Pro is active" and every module unlocks.
This step needs an internet connection once — it's the only time Breeze talks to Lemon Squeezy's servers to confirm the key. After that it only re-checks quietly at each launch, and if it can't reach the internet it keeps Pro unlocked rather than locking you out.

Deactivating a Mac

Retiring a Mac, or want to move Pro somewhere else? On the same Breeze Pro screen, click "Deactivate on this Mac." That frees the activation slot immediately, and you can use the same key on another Mac — or reactivate it here again — right away.

Why the 3-device limit works in your favor

Most one-time-purchase Mac utilities tie a license to a single machine. Breeze lets one $24.99 purchase cover up to three Macs at once — your laptop, a desktop, and a third Mac, all from one key. Outgrow that, or swap a device? Deactivate the one you're not using and that slot opens up instantly — no repurchase, no waiting on support.

Common questions

Is Breeze Pro a subscription?

No. Breeze Pro is a single $24.99 payment — yours forever, with every future update included. There's no recurring charge either way you buy it: through the Mac App Store or directly from us.

What's the difference between the Mac App Store version of Breeze and the direct download?

Same price, same cleaner. The Mac App Store edition runs inside Apple's App Sandbox, which blocks a specific set of system-level operations: Disk Health wear figures, viewing what's in the Trash (Empty Trash itself still works), deleting Time Machine snapshots (finding them still works), Login Items in Startup, installing Homebrew updates, and the Maintenance tasks that need admin rights. Each one is clearly marked in the app. The App Store edition is also focused purely on cleanup, so it leaves out a few live system readouts the direct download has. The direct download from hanncrest.com is not sandboxed, so all of those work normally there.

I bought Breeze through the Mac App Store — do I need a license key?

No. App Store purchases unlock automatically through your Apple ID. If Pro doesn't show as unlocked, open Breeze Pro in the sidebar and click Restore Purchases instead of entering a key. License keys are only for the direct download.

How long is the free trial, and what happens when it ends?

Breeze starts a 14-day trial automatically on first launch, with every Pro module unlocked — no key, no card, no account. When it ends, the free modules keep working forever: Smart Scan and the Health Score, the Storage map, Applications with the real uninstaller, System junk, Reclaim space and Trash bins. Only the Pro modules ask you to unlock.

Can I use one license on both an Apple Silicon and an Intel Mac?

Yes. Breeze ships as a universal binary and the license isn't tied to a chip architecture — only to how many Macs are activated at once.

Does activation need an internet connection every time?

Only the first time. Activation is one call to Lemon Squeezy to confirm the key. After that Breeze re-checks quietly at launch, and if it can't reach the internet it keeps Pro unlocked rather than locking you out.

What happens if I request a refund?

All direct purchases include a 30-day money-back guarantee (1 month). If you bought directly through our website, email contact@hanncrest.com with your order email or license key, and we will process a full refund via Lemon Squeezy within 1–2 business days. Breeze checks your license once per launch, not continuously in the background; once a refund is processed, Pro locks the next time you open Breeze on that Mac. For Mac App Store purchases, refunds are handled directly by Apple via reportaproblem.apple.com. See our full Refund Policy.

I've used all 3 activations and need another — now what?

Open Breeze on a Mac you're no longer using it on, go to Breeze Pro in the sidebar and click “Deactivate on this Mac.” That frees the slot instantly. If Breeze isn't installed there anymore, Lemon Squeezy's customer portal — linked in your receipt email — can deactivate an instance from your order page directly.

Still stuck?

Send us your order email and what you're seeing, and we'll sort it out — usually within a couple of business days.
