Privacy Policy
This policy covers the app. Website visits, purchases and support reports have separate data handling. If you send a report, its message and attachments leave your Mac so we can respond. Direct license activation uses Lemon Squeezy.

The short version: Breeze scans and cleans entirely on your Mac. There's no account, no analytics, no advertising. Every scan it runs happens locally and stays there, and everything it removes goes to your Trash — nothing is permanently deleted until you empty it yourself. The one exception is the optional Bug Report form: if you choose to send one, whatever you typed (plus an opt-in diagnostics profile) goes to our server — never automatically, only when you tap Send. This page explains exactly what that means.
What Breeze reads
To find what's safe to clean, Breeze reads your Mac's own file system and system state locally — caches, logs, app leftovers, duplicates, large and old files, installed apps, storage capacity and disk health (the direct download also reads memory and battery status for its system readouts). All of it is read through standard macOS APIs and a handful of Apple-signed system tools already on every Mac. None of it is uploaded, synced, or sent anywhere — it's shown to you in the app and nowhere else.
What Breeze removes, and how
- ✓Everything Breeze cleans is moved to the Trash, not destroyed — so you can always recover it until you empty the Trash yourself.
- ✓The one exception is the optional Secure Shredder, which permanently overwrites a file — and only ever when you explicitly ask it to, with its own separate confirmation.
- ✓Every cleanup is scan → review → confirm: Breeze shows you exactly what it found, with sizes, before anything moves. Ambiguous items are never pre-selected.
What's stored, and where
- ✓Preferences (theme, schedule, the modules you enable) are kept in standard macOS app preferences, local to your Mac.
- ✓Cleanup history (so you can review and undo what Breeze did) is written to a local file in your user Library — never to iCloud, never off your Mac.
- ✓Your Breeze Pro purchase is validated through the App Store / StoreKit under your own Apple ID. Breeze stores no payment details.
The few things that touch the network — only when you ask
Update checks
When you open the Updates section, Breeze checks which of your apps and your macOS have newer versions available, using the same public update sources those apps already use (Homebrew, the Mac App Store, and each app's own update feed). It reports what it finds — it never installs anything without you, and it sends none of your data in the process.
Network speed test (direct download only)
Only when you press "Run speed test" in the Network module of the direct download, Breeze measures your connection against a public test endpoint. This never happens automatically. The Mac App Store edition has no Network module.
License check (direct download only)
If you bought Breeze directly from us, activating your license key sends the key and your Mac's network name to Lemon Squeezy, our payment provider, so the key can be tied to that Mac; after that, Breeze re-checks the key once per launch using the key and an activation ID. Nothing about your files or usage is included. The Mac App Store edition doesn't do this — Apple handles the purchase.
The permissions Breeze asks for
What Breeze asks for depends on which build you're running. The direct download from this site asks for Full Disk Access, a macOS platform permission granted in System Settings, so it can scan and clean protected locations across your whole Mac. The Mac App Store version runs inside Apple's App Sandbox instead — sandboxed apps can't use Full Disk Access at all — so it asks you, once, to pick your Home folder in a standard Open panel and remembers that choice for next time. Either way it's a local access grant: it lets Breeze see the files it needs to, and nothing is sent anywhere. Depending on what you scan, macOS may also prompt separately for Downloads, Pictures, or your media library; same thing, local only.
The Bug Report / Feature Request form — the one place data leaves your Mac, and only if you ask
- ✓Nothing is sent unless you open the form and tap Send Report yourself. There is no background or automatic submission.
- ✓What's always included: the description you typed, Breeze's version/build, and your macOS version. An email address is included only if you type one in — it's entirely optional.
- ✓An opt-in Diagnostics toggle, off by default, can additionally include an anonymous device profile: Mac model, CPU/RAM, locale, uptime, thermal state, and whether Breeze Pro is active. It never includes your name, files, account, or location, and carries no persistent identifier — each report gets a random id.
- ✓Reports go to HANNCREST's own server over HTTPS, used only to read and respond to what you sent — never sold, shared, or used for advertising.
Children's privacy
Breeze is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age — there's simply nothing collected, full stop.
