Buying, activating, and moving your StealthShare license

Everything about the direct (non-App-Store) purchase: where your license key comes from, where to enter it, moving your license to another Mac, and how the 3-device limit works in your favor.

Two ways to own StealthShare

StealthShare is the same $19.99 one-time purchase either way — the only difference is how it is unlocked. The Mac App Store version is a paid-upfront download tied to your Apple ID, with every feature unlocked out of the box. The direct-download version — bought straight from us via Lemon Squeezy — starts with a 14-day trial and unlocks permanently with a license key. This page covers that direct path.

StealthShare starts a 14-day trial automatically on first launch, with every feature unlocked. No key, no card, no account required. The Control Panel and Settings pane show how many days are left. When the trial ends, Privacy Mode locks and invites you to activate your purchase to keep protecting your screen.

Buying directly

  1. From the StealthShare page, choose the direct-download option near Pricing or head to store.hanncrest.com.
  2. Check out through Lemon Squeezy — card, PayPal, or Apple Pay where available. It's a single $19.99 charge with no subscription and no recurring billing.
  3. You'll land on an immediate order confirmation page, and your receipt email with your license key is sent right away.

Finding your license key

Lemon Squeezy emails your receipt within a minute or two of checkout. It contains your download link and your unique license key — a string you'll paste into StealthShare once.

Don't see it? Check spam or promotions first. Your receipt also links to a permanent customer portal where your order and key are always available, so nothing is lost even if you change email addresses.

Activating it in StealthShare

  1. Open StealthShare and click the menu-bar icon, then choose Settings (⌘,) (or click Enter License Key… directly in the menu-bar popover).
  2. Select the License tab in the sidebar.
  3. Paste your key into the License Key field.
  4. Click Activate. Within a moment, the status switches to "StealthShare Licensed" and protection is unlocked permanently.
This step needs an internet connection once to confirm the key with Lemon Squeezy. Afterward, StealthShare revalidates quietly at launch and once a day while running, and if you are offline or traveling, it fails open for up to 30 days — keeping you licensed rather than locking you out.

Deactivating and moving to a new Mac

Upgrading to a new Mac, or want to transfer your seat? On the old Mac, go to Settings ▸ License and click "Deactivate license on this Mac." StealthShare asks for confirmation to prevent accidental clicks, releases the remote slot on Lemon Squeezy, and clears local credentials. You can then paste the same key on your new Mac immediately.

Why the 3-device limit works in your favor

Most one-time Mac software locks a license to a single machine. StealthShare lets one $19.99 purchase cover up to three Macs at once — your work laptop, home desktop, and a third Mac, all under one key. Need to switch computers? Product isolation & security

All HANNCREST apps enforce strict product isolation. A key created for StealthShare only activates StealthShare. If you accidentally paste a Vitals or Breeze key into StealthShare, the app rejects it and automatically releases the remote activation slot so you never burn a seat on the wrong app.

Is StealthShare a subscription?

No. StealthShare is a single $19.99 payment — yours forever, with every future update included. There is no recurring charge, no monthly fee, and no renewal.

What's the difference between the Mac App Store version and the direct download?

Both builds use the exact same native window-overlay engine with zero video recording. In the direct download, notification suppression runs Do Not Disturb quietly in the background without stealing window focus, and camera detection reads CoreMediaIO directly. In the Mac App Store build, Apple's sandbox restricts CoreMediaIO and silent background shortcuts, using URL-scheme focus transitions and recording-indicator window checks instead.

I bought StealthShare through the Mac App Store — do I need a license key?

No. The Mac App Store build is a paid-upfront download tied to your Apple ID, so every feature is unlocked automatically on any Mac signed in with that Apple ID. License keys are only used for direct downloads from hanncrest.com.

How long is the free trial, and what happens when it ends?

StealthShare provides a full 14-day free trial on first launch with every feature unlocked — no key, no card, no account required. When the trial ends, Privacy Mode locks and prompts you to enter a license key or purchase to re-arm.

Can I use one license on both an Apple Silicon and an Intel Mac?

Yes. StealthShare is built as a universal fat binary (arm64 + x86_64) running natively on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4) and Intel Macs running macOS 14 Sonoma or later.

Does activation need an internet connection every time?

Only the first time. Activation performs one call to Lemon Squeezy to verify your key. Afterward, StealthShare validates quietly on launch and once a day in the background, and if your Mac is offline, it fails open for up to 30 days — paying users are never locked out while offline.

Does StealthShare record video of my screen?

No — never. StealthShare is the opposite of a screen recorder: it hides sensitive things while you share and captures nothing. It reads window coordinates from the public Core Graphics window list (which requires zero permissions) and renders native blurred overlay panels on top of confidential apps. It does not use ScreenCaptureKit and does not ask for Screen Recording permission.

How does window masking work — will my audience see my Slack?

When Privacy Mode is armed, StealthShare draws an on-screen frosted blur mask over each app on your confidential list (and in Present Mode, over every background window). Because macOS shares what is displayed on screen, the window is masked in the shared feed as well as on your display. If you need to deliberately inspect a masked window mid-meeting, simply press ⌘⇧E to peek at it for 8 seconds without disarming Privacy Mode.

What happens if I request a refund?

All direct purchases include a 30-day money-back guarantee (1 month). If you purchased directly from our website, email contact@hanncrest.com with your order email or key, and we will issue a full refund via Lemon Squeezy within 1–2 business days. StealthShare revalidates your license at launch and once every 24 hours; once refunded, the license locks on the next launch or daily check on that Mac. I've used all 3 activations and need another — now what?

Open StealthShare on a Mac you are no longer using, go to Settings ▸ License, and click "Deactivate license on this Mac." That frees the slot immediately. If that Mac is already wiped or unavailable, you can deactivate instances directly from your Lemon Squeezy order portal.
